Key Achievements

Over the past two years, I have contributed significantly to both organizational performance and advisory impact in the Sri Lankan export and financial sectors: 1. Financial Growth & Stability At Euro West Exports SL (Pvt) Ltd, I streamlined accounting operations, implemented stronger internal controls, and optimized cash flow management for cross-border transactions. Managed multi-currency accounts in QuickBooks Enterprise, enabling accurate reporting and better foreign exchange management, which contributed to stronger financial stability. Supported the company’s growth in the spice export sector (pepper, arecanut, star anise) by ensuring smooth financial compliance with Indian and Middle Eastern markets. 2. Advisory & Governance Impact Provided advisory on corporate governance and Shariah governance frameworks, drawing from my postgraduate research at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, helping businesses integrate ethical and transparent financial practices. Assisted in structuring trade deals with Indian vendors, ensuring financial compliance with both Sri Lankan and Indian regulatory requirements. 3. Market Reach & Client Services Supported export operations serving clients in India, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific markets, with shipments amounting to significant foreign exchange earnings for Sri Lanka. Helped strengthen vendor relationships by ensuring timely settlements, transparency in transactions, and accurate reporting. 4. Professional Development & Knowledge Sharing Continued teaching as a visiting lecturer at YA Education Institute, mentoring the next generation of accountants and finance professionals. Provided voluntary financial guidance to community organizations under the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU), promoting financial literacy and ethical business practices. 5. Performance Metrics (where applicable) Improved reporting timelines by 30% through system optimization. Reduced financial discrepancies in reconciliations by over 40% through stronger controls. Supported export volumes that contributed to year-on-year revenue growth of ~15–20% in Euro West Exports.
